Call of Duty: Mobile is now into its second season since launch, and with that, a Season 2 Battle Pass is now available. Or, rather, two different Battle Passes are available; a standard pass and a “Premium Pass”. While the ordinary Battle Pass is free, the Premium Pass must be bought using COD Points, the in-game currency which can be bought with real money. This pass adds a parallel tier system with extra rewards and Elite Tasks.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 2 – Battle Pass vs. Premium Pass
If you’re playing Call of Duty: Mobile then you have free access to the Season 2 Call of Duty: Mobile Battle Pass. This features a tier stream including new class and gear skins. (Including some holiday-themed cosmetics.) There are also two actual weapons. You can unlock the UL736 at Tier 30 and the M4A1 firearm at Tier 100.
The Premium Pass, on the other hand, features a lot more content. Unfortunately, not all of this is cosmetic, and there is an argument to be made that there is something of a pay-to-win element here, with the Premium Pass tier stream featuring extra weapons in addition to cosmetics. You get a close-quarters M4 at Tier 100, as well as several other weapons. Immediately upon purchasing the Premium Pass, you get the ability to use Alex Mason as a playable character in all game modes. You also get an XPR-50 with the “Alex & Frank” camo, a Knife with its own camo, and a Trip Mine with a camo.
In addition to the Battle Pass, Season 2 is bringing some new forms of content to Call of Duty: Mobile. These include a limited time Zombies mode, for instance. Importantly, the game also now has controller support, something which could well entice more players to try out the game. (Support is available for both PS4 and Xbox One controllers.)
