Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists has been confirmed for the West as announced by Koei Tecmo earlier today. Players can enjoy the latest in Gust’s Atelier series when it releases sometime in early 2019 for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. It will have a physical and digital release on PS4 and Switch and a digital-only release on PC via Steam.
In addition to a Western localization announcement, we found out a lot more information about Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists. In it, you play as the titular Nelke who aspires to be an alchemist but doesn’t actually have the talent to do so. Contrary to previous games, you actually play as someone who isn’t an alchemist.
Instead, Nelke is an aristocrat who wishes to solve the mystery behind the Granzweit Tree and manage her father’s land of Westwald in the process. Because she can’t use alchemy, she will employ various alchemists from across the entire franchise like Ayesha Atlugle and Escha Malier.
Players will help Nelke send out the numerous alchemists to gather materials and then synthesize them. Those products can then be sold in Westwald’shops to gather money in order to develop and manage the town. Players will be able to build new facilities and even assign helpers to some of them to make the town grow.
Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists’ release coincides with the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Atelier series. It makes perfect sense then that this upcoming title will bring together many of the protagonists of the previous titles for a huge crossover game.
This wasn’t the only game announced by Koei Tecmo today, though. In addition to Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists, players can look forward to the Arland Series Deluxe Pack before the release of the next entry since it will be releasing this year on PS4, Switch, and PC.
