While the ‘80s Action Heroes event might currently be stealing everybody’s attention, particularly with event-exclusive modes like Die Hardpoint and Rambo’s Gun Game, there are new modes that have also come to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently. One of these, for example, is 3v3 Gunfight.
New Black Ops Cold War Mode Variant: 3v3 Gunfight
While various forms of Gunfight have been available in Black Ops Cold War for a while now, this is the first time that a 3v3 version has ever been playable without limitations. Indeed, Treyarch has changed the way that they normally implement 3v3 playlists for this mode. The standard rules of Gunfight apply here, with no alterations for the extra players, and no restrictions on weapons. Previously, 3v3 Gunfight was only playable for a short time with specific weapon restrictions; melee weapons only, for example, or sniper rifles only.
3v3 Gunfight arrived in Black Ops Cold War just before the weekend, as part of their latest playlist update. That update’s headline feature was, of course, the introduction of Rambo’s Gun Game; the latest limited-time mode exclusive to the ongoing ’80s Action Heroes event. Elsewhere in Multiplayer, Treyarch brought back a Snipers Only Moshpit playlist, which is now available in the Quick Play menu.
In a blog post announcing these new modes and playlists, Treyarch also revealed a few interesting details. The first is that Die Hardpoint, the second event-exclusive mode which launched last week, has become; “an instant fan-favourite”. While this mode will be disappearing after the ’80s Action Heroes event ends, players should keep an eye out for new Hardpoint variants afterwards; no doubt Treyarch will be taking note of Die Hardpoint’s popularity for future modes. Additionally, the studio teased that they are currently testing for a potential Face Off variant that would feature 6v6 matches on Gunfight maps. According to Treyarch, this mode could be launching in the “near future”.
