Far Cry 5’s Lost on Mars DLC Features a Gun That Turns Targets Into Farm Animals
Far Cry 5 already features its fair share of ridiculous weaponry; from a logo-emblazoned rowing oar to the devastating shovel launcher. Now, it seems the game is about to get a new arsenal of absurd new firearms with the Far Cry 5 Lost on Mars DLC. The new DLC is due to release tomorrow, but the new weapons are already available in the game’s Arcade Mode. One in particular has certainly stood out from the rest for its sheer eccentricity; the Morphinator.
The Far Cry 5 Lost on Mars “Morphinator” Gun
The Morphinator is a fairly small and unassuming firearm; held in one hand. Its results, however, are anything but subtle. The science-fiction sidearm fires a crackling beam of purple energy. If a player can hit an opponent for long enough with that beam, it transforms them into a glowing and harmless farm animal, like a cow or a chicken. The animal doesn’t stay harmless, however. As if the transformation effect wasn’t enough, the newly-transfigured animal explodes after a few seconds in a sizable blast of blue smoke.
The Morphinator might just outdo the Shovel Launcher for the title of Far Cry 5’s most ridiculous weapon. The Lost on Mars DLC certainly features a few contenders for that title, such as the Power Glove, but the Morphinator really is in a class of its own. Several achievements in the Far Cry 5 Lost on Mars DLC are tied to getting kills with certain new weapons; Bug Squasher requires players to takedown 10 Arachnids with the Power Glove, while Slimy Death requires them to hit 10 Arachnids with Crabmones. There is also the Mars Second Amendment achievement which requires players to buy 12 weapons. The Morphinator might not be the most tactical, or even the most powerful weapon, in the new DLC. However, it is likely to be one of the most fun to use.
