With Fortnite’s v3.5.2 update now live on all platforms, you’ll probably want to hop online and check out everything that’s been added to the game, including following the drama that seems to be going on with the additional meteors falling in the game. You probably don’t need an incentive to play Fortnite, but just in case you do, Epic Games has sweetened the deal. You can earn double XP starting today and running all the way through Sunday, April 22.
Hope online and play your regular rounds of Fortnite to rack up twice the normal amount of XP you’d typically earn in Battle Royale. You’ll also get some decent goodies in Save the World mode, such as free Into the Storm llamas that you’re assigned every day you log in over the weekend. You can grab four of them in all.
During the double XP weekend, you’ll be able to play the 50v50 game type, which is an “improved” version of the limited time mode that finds two teams of 50 duking it out. You have 10 minutes to search the map for useful loot, while the storm continues to close in. It’s pretty intense if you haven’t already tried it out, and definitely worth experiencing if you’re interested in something a little faster-paced.
As we reported previously, this update also introduced the Light Machine Gun, and it patched several different frustrating bugs that were previously antagonizing players. It should be a relatively smooth experience if you decide to hop on and make the most out of the double XP weekend. If you’re a student, you might want to make an excuse to play a little more than normal, especially since a university in Ohio is now starting to hand out scholarships for skilled players.
