The Occupation is a time-centric investigative thriller adventure game that is releasing later this year. You will be able to uncover your very own conspiracy in this game when it releases on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 9th, 2018. This title is coming from indie developer White Paper Games whose only other released game is the 2014 first-person adventure title Ether One.
The Occupation marks the second game from the Manchester, UK-based indie studio. Similar to its first game, you will explore the world in this new adventure game from the first-person perspective. Players will take on the role of a journalist in northwest England during the year 1987. The basic premise in this alternate history game is that a bombing has just occurred in England, resulting in the government stripping away the rights of its citizens.
The Occupation has you investigate the events surrounding the bombing and the government officials to find out what exactly is going on. Everything in the game plays out in real-time, meaning that you only have a limited amount of time to complete objectives and investigate matters. More importantly, this also means that you won’t be able to accomplish everything.
According to White Paper Games, people in The Occupation will react to your actions and the biggest enemy you should be concerned about is actually time itself. How you go about playing the game is entirely up to you, too. You can sit and accept the propaganda that the government is spreading or get up and find out what the truth really is.
You will be able to make those decisions for yourself when The Occupation releases on October 9th, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One both digitally and physically.
