Rainbow Six Siege’s 2.2 update is now live but players still have more content to look forward to later this year, including even more playable operators. Now, some fans have latched onto a rumor that one of the game’s upcoming operators may even be a familiar face for those who also happen to play Ghost Recon Wildlands.
According to this recent Reddit post, there’s evidence to suggest that one of Rainbow Six Siege’s upcoming operators will be none other than Nomad, the Ghost team leader who players take control of in the Ghost Recon Wildlands story campaign. This would actually make sense considering Wildlands is currently in the midst of a Rainbow Six Siege crossover event wherein players get to team up with several Siege operators for a special story mission.
Of course, the logistics of how exactly Nomad would join the Siege roster have led to a fair amount of debate. In Wildlands, players can customize several aspects of Nomad’s presentation, from the character’s gender to their outfit, weapon loadout, and equipped skills. However, despite the in-depth layers of customization, Nomad is still a set character with a distinct personality, so it’s not entirely far-fetched to imagine he/she could be added to the Siege lineup. Fans have even started theorizing on what Nomad’s signature Siege gadget would be, with the overall consensus leaning towards some sort of remote-piloted aerial drone (a key tool in Wildlands).
At the very least, it would be nice to see Ubisoft (the company behind both Siege and Wildlands) continue the crossover vibe that it began earlier this year when a previous Wildlands event saw the game crossing over with the world of Splinter Cell (yet another Ubisoft property). For now though, only time will tell if there’s any merit to the Nomad in Siege rumors.
