Fans Are Updating The Original DOOM To Support VR

The DOOM mods have been popping up for a while, and we have already seen a lot of unique stuff fitting the old DOOM game. There is already a DOOM VR version of the 2016 title. However, some fans of the original DOOM decided to work on a VR version of the old DOOM.

Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM are both games by id Software. Both of them were landmarks in 3D video game design, writing history and becoming the main inspiration of later video game releases. They were the first games that put players inside the body of their virtual character, making them experience everything like they were there themselves.

The DOOM VR mod received an update last month that added support to another game called Heretic. It is yet another video game based on id’s engine. Heretic supports massive guns and monsters and even more monsters. If players succeed in running it in VR, the experience is the same as playing the original game.

The game is very close to the original DOOM game. Its original developer is Raven Software. If you are a fan of the old DOOM, you will definitely love this. While there is a development in also bringing Wolfenstein to VR, after the Heretic update, some fans took the idea to make another DOOM VR. This time, though, it will be a version of the original DOOM.

It is always exciting to bring old-school games like DOOM to today’s technological domain. Doom 2 in VR was something, and it will be more exciting if someone brought the rest of the DOOM franchise into VR. It would also be great if the next title of the franchise received a VR version too. You could experience the Hell on Earth DOOM Eternal brings much more epically than you would playing the standard version of the game.
