Thanks to ongoing content updates that add in new features such as a permadeath PvE mode and missions that cross over with other Ubisoft properties, Ghost Recon Wildlands is in a very good place right now. However, one fan recently suggested a potential feature that would make the open-world tactical shooter even better, and many other fans were quick to agree.

Over on the official Ghost Recon Wildlands subreddit, a user going by the somewhat cheeky handle that_so_sucks presented their idea for a new feature called Contracts. In layman’s terms, Contracts would basically be randomly-generated mini-missions that would provide an ongoing incentive to keep playing, but I’ll let that_so_sucks explain it better in their own words:
(Lightly edited for clarity)
“After you complete the first mission, you unlock contracts. These are FREE randomized missions around Bolivia that reward with prestige credits and XP. These randomized contracts may have different objectives: the assassination of an HVT, stealth sabotage, VIP protection or the extraction of a hostage (more to come).
“Contracts will continue spawning around Bolivia no matter what stage of the campaign has been completed. Once one has been completed, more will show up with similar objectives. Chose your loadout wisely as failing a contract will result in a bad reputation and you will lose some contracts that may have been available before. Contracts I feel would be a good addition to the game, extending the life of Wildlands.”
Later in the thread, that_so_sucks also extrapolated on the reputation component they mentioned, saying that successfully completing contracts would result in a better reputation and thus access to more lucrative contracts. This would provide persistent ongoing incentives to not only take on multiple contracts in a row, but to also ensure they were successfully completed. A commenter in the original thread even helped to build on the idea, saying that different contracts (and thus different reputation tracks) could be associated with various organizations such as the CIA and the local rebel encampments.
There are still two more seasonal expansions set to be released as part of Ghost Recon Wildlands’ Year Two content schedule, so here’s hoping the developers at Ubisoft are listening to suggestions like the Contracts idea posited by that_so_sucks.
