At present, Fortnite Battle Royale is available on almost every platform; Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS all have versions of the game. There is one major mobile platform which has yet to receive one, however, and that is Android. An Android version of Fortnite was announced some time ago, and sign-ups for the upcoming Fortnite Android beta have now gone live.
Sign-Ups for the Fortnite Android Beta Go Live
Speaking at the Samsung Unpacked event which took place yesterday, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney announced the opening of sign-ups for the Fortnite Android Beta. In a similar manner to the game’s iOS release, there will be a closed beta before the full release. To sign up for the upcoming event, Android users need to visit the new Android Beta sign-up page on the game’s website. That page lists the compatible Android devices, as well as an FAQ.
The sign-up forms can be found on that page, letting Android users sign-up for the beta. For now, the beta is only open to Samsung customers who have one of the listed devices. Note that gamers who own a Galaxy Tab 4 or Galaxy Note 9 can get an exclusive “Galaxy” skin simply for playing on their device. However, while the beta is currently limited to certain users, that will soon change. The closed beta will slowly expand over the coming week, allowing players on other supported phones to get invites.
If you receive an invitation after completing the sign-up forms, then installation instructions will be included. Fortnite will not be available on Google Play. For now at least, Fortnite can only be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. You will need to log in with your Epic account online before you can download the game.
