We already knew that DOOM Eternal, DOOM 2016’s sequel, is coming on PC, Xbox One and PS4. But, a recent announcement made by the official Twitter account of DOOM stated that it would also come to Nintendo Switch. Fans are already going crazy on their tweet replies. Are you?
The official gameplay reveal of DOOM Eternal happened on Friday, August 10, and it was more than impressive. There is much new stuff coming to DOOM 2016’s sequel that you did not expect. Apart from the new demons and guns, the developers revealed that they are now building an entire DOOM universe with many new environments for you to explore.
We do not know the exact release date of DOOM Eternal yet, but we do know that it will come sometime in 2019. We also knew that it would be playable on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. However, the official DOOM Twitter account surprised fans by tweeting something we expected but were not sure about. It was not mentioned during QuakeCon’s gameplay reveal, so it hit us a bit hard with excitement.
DOOM Eternal will come on Nintendo Switch too. We were guessing that it would since its prequel was ported on Switch too, but before that tweet, we had stopped expecting it. The tweet mentioned the following:
“We hope you’re ready. #DOOM Eternal will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.”

Fans are already tweeting in excitement about this announcement. DOOM Eternal looked better than its prequel judging by its gameplay reveal. By the way, the reveal showed us the PS4 and PC gameplay but not the Nintendo Switch gameplay. Knowing how awesome DOOM 2016 was on Switch, we can expect an even better experience with the upcoming DOOM Eternal. Bethesda never ceases to impress their fans no matter which way they choose to do it, that is for sure.
