Bethesda Releases Midyear Mayhem Field Report Which Highlights Scale of ESO
The latest Midyear Mayhem Elder Scrolls Online event has now come to an end. Following the event’s conclusion, Bethesda published a field report online highlighting players’ achievements. The report also makes clear just how active the game is; the event took place from July 26 to August 6, and in that time, almost 9 million players died in the game’s Battlegrounds mode.
Bethesda’s Midyear Mayhem Field Report
The Midyear Mayhem PvP event is an annual occurrence in Elder Scrolls Online. The event offered numerous rewards for players competing in the game’s different PvP modes; including Battlegrounds and the Alliance War. Now, the event has come to an end, and Bethesda has kept track of what occurred throughout its duration. Among the different Battlegrounds teams, the Fire Drakes won overall; claiming 50,629 wins in Battlegrounds. 8,973,957 players were killed in total during Battlegrounds, highlighting just how many people engaged with the Midyear Mayhem event.
Meanwhile, in the Alliance War, players were also highly active. 703,162 keeps and resources were captured, while 2,515 elder scrolls were stolen by players. In total, almost as many players died in Alliance War as in Battlegrounds; over 7.5 million. Fort Aleswell proved to be the deadliest battlefield in Cyrodiil during the event. In the Imperial City, nearly 500,000 players were killed, but in return players destroyed over 16 million enemy daedra! All told, players were able to capture 245,616 Imperial City districts, and steal over 356 million Tel Var stones. Once again, bear in mind that all of this took place over the course of less than two weeks.
The Midyear Mayhem event has concluded in time for the release of the new Wolfhunter DLC; no doubt an intentional decision on Bethesda’s part. Bethesda also recently released a new trailer and information for the next upcoming DLC. Murkmire will release later this year as a larger region expansion.
