Black Ops 4’s multiplayer public beta ended on Monday so is officially now over, but I think the majority of us can all agree that the core Call Of Duty moment-to-moment action experience remains intact and is still a mighty fun time. That being said, as with all public betas, the community has highlighted some aspects of the multiplayer experience that they think need tweaking and luckily Treyarch is listening intently.
“There is a meta to the game that will unfold over time, so we took a slightly conservative approach to changes in the Beta until all the gameplay data had been reviewed and digested. Now, we have a wealth of information and are excited to get to work polishing the game for launch,” Treyarch said recently on Reddit.
Specifically, the studio has revealed some of the changes that they’re working on in time for the game’s big launch. Up first is the Fog of War, which is set to be slightly adjusted. Players will still be able to see enemies in front of them when they appear, but they’ll now need to choose the Team Link perk if they want to see enemies behind them.
Next up is the spawn system, which has received many complaints in regards to spawn killing. Though this has been an age old problem in Call Of Duty, the studio has promised changes. This includes the Tac-Deploy equipment, which will now tell players in the kill-cam whether the enemy is in the vicinity of the spawn point. Nice idea!
Body armour is going to be balanced, too, and is now more susceptible to explosive damage. It’ll also slightly reduce damage for each consecutive shot instead of protecting from one single bullet from any gun. Further, those who kill an enemy equipped with body armour will receive an extra 25 points.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 is scheduled to launch on October 12th. The Blackout beta, on the other hand, starts September 10th.
