CD Projekt Red has announced a new week-long event for Gwent, the Witcher Card Game. The event is a “Guaranteed Epic Card Week,” during which players will be able to claim guaranteed epic cards every time they open a keg in the game. The event aligns closely with the end of the current Gwent season.
The New Gwent Epic Card Week
CD Projekt Red announced the new Guaranteed Epic Card Week in an update on the official Gwent website. “Until Monday, August 27th, 12 PM (noon) CEST,” states the update; “every keg you open will have a guaranteed epic card among the first four cards”. The Epic Card Week looks set to be the last major reward event before the current season concludes at the end of the month. It takes over from the recent Pawn Takes King event, which concluded yesterday. That event featured a Special Arena mode wherein players could only build decks with Bronze cards. There are no Special Arena modes associated with the Epic Card Week; just epic card rewards.

CD Projekt Red recently warned players in another update that the current Gwent season will soon come to an end. Following the Season of the Dryad, the Season of the Draconid has nearly completed its month-long duration. “Season of the Draconid will end on August 31st at 10am CEST!” reminded CD Projekt Red’s official update; “Just 14 days left to get the Saskia avatar!” However, players now have only 9 days remaining to do so. The Epic Card Week will end just four days prior to the end of the season.
It’s presently unknown what theme CD Projekt Red have planned for the next Gwent season. Each season’s theme informs the unique season rewards available to players; for instance, Season of the Draconid features dragon-themed banners and a character avatar based on Saskia; the dragon character from The Witcher II: Assassins of Kings.
