Fortnite Battle Royale patch 5.30 was just released and it brought some interesting changes to the popular video game. This patch was originally scheduled to be released for Tuesday, August 21, but the game developer decided to postpone it. This was an unexpected move by Epic Games, but it makes sense since the developer wanted to prevent early leaks of the exclusive Road Trip skin.
The special skin was added to game files, and it will most likely be leaked within an hour. In order to get the skin, players have to complete all challenges in 7 different weeks, and week 7 challenges will be released on Friday.
The patch brought Rift-to-Go, the item which allows players to create portable rifts and use them to quickly move away around the map. This item has an Epic rarity and drops in stacks of 1, with the maximum stack size of 2. After using it, players will have 10 seconds to go through the rift and their teammates will be allowed to use it as well.
One of the biggest changes was the map change that replaced Tomato Town with Tomato Temple. This area has received a complete revamp and will be one of the most popular landing spots in season 5.
Pump Shotgun received a small buff as its equip time was changed from 0.96 seconds to 0.88 seconds. Double Barrel Shotgun also received a small change as it now has a 15% spread reduction while player is crouched. On the opposite side, Clingers were nerfed and will no longer explode if the object they are attached to explodes.

The new patch is also bringing a new limited-time game mode. This mode is called Score Royale and instead of surviving until the end of the match, players will win by crossing the high score threshold. For example, players will get 10 points for using an apple or a mushroom, 50 points for opening a llama, 100 points for eliminating an enemy, and much more.
Additionally, Playground LTM was updated with more ATK’s, new ramps, and new rifts over the island.
Epic Games released a fix for the trap bug and players will not get properly damaged by it. The patch includes many other bug fixes, including the fix for the vehicle bug that will now make vehicles fall properly after the structure under them is destroyed.
