Epic Games has been very busy lately with Fortnite Battle Royale. The development team has recently released patch 5.30 which added many great things to the popular video game, including a new item, a unique limited-time game mode, and a big map change.
However, it doesn’t seem that the developers will stop anytime soon as they are preparing a few more big changes for their biggest game. In a recently-published State of Development post, Epic Games has revealed some upcoming changes for Fortnite, and one change seems to be more important than anything else. According to the post, Fortnite Battle Royale players will get a big matchmaking change which will match PC players against console players based on their input.
While this shouldn’t affect too many players, it will be a huge hit to console players who use keyboard and mouse as their input device. The upcoming matchmaking change will match these players against PC players, making the video game more competitive and fair.
This change will be implemented with the next patch, and the patch will most likely come out on Tuesday, August 28.
Right now, console players who use keyboard and mouse have a huge advantage over their opponents who play with a controller. Not only can they bind almost every function to a separate key on the keyboard, but they are much more accurate with their weapons since they use a mouse for aiming.
Epic Games has a native support for keyboard and mouse on PlayStation 4 and players are free to use it. However, the upcoming change will make the game harder for those who this input combo as they will be matched up against much tougher opponents.
It is important to note that this change will not affect console users who use a controller unless someone in their party uses keyboard and mouse. If this is the case, the entire party will be put in a PC lobby.
