New Battlefield 5 Release Dates for Origin Access and Deluxe Edition Preorders

In a last-minute but not unsurprising announcement, EA has changed the release date of Battlefield 5. Originally scheduled for release in late October, it has now been pushed back to the 20th of November. EA has now released the alternate release dates for subscribers to Origin Access Premier, EAX Play First Trials, and those who have preordered the game’s Deluxe Edition.

Battlefield 5 Will Now Release Four Weeks Later Than Planned

The Revised Battlefield 5 Release Date and Changes to the Release Schedule

There has been concern for some weeks that Battlefield 5 was going to perform poorly in October. It was sharing its release window with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Both games have much higher preorder figures. A recent market analysis report prompted comparisons between Battlefield 5 and Titanfall 2. EA has now chosen to move the release date four weeks later to the 20th of November. The studio has already announced that players who preordered the Deluxe Edition or have access to certain programs would get access to the game early. Now, the studio has clarified when those dates will be with the new release date.

Players who buy the Standard Edition of Battlefield 5 will get access on the official release date of November 20th. Those who preorder the game’s Deluxe Edition will get access four days early, on the 16th. Those who have access to EAX Play First Trials, or who are Origin Access Premier members, will get to play Battlefield 5 a full eleven days early, on the 9th of November.

EA has also clarified that the open beta, which will start next week, won’t change as a result of the new release date. It’s unknown whether EA has moved the release date purely to leave the competitive October release window. The studio may also want more time to polish and add features. Several game modes were not planned to feature at launch; including Battle Royale and Combined Arms.
