The Battlefield 5 Open Beta opens in two days’ time for most players, giving many fans their first chance to try the game for themselves. The Free Battlefield 1 Premium Pass

DICE has now announced a giveaway event for Battlefield fans, which will run from the 11th of September to the 18th. The announcement came via an update on EA’s official website. During that week-long span, players can claim the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass for free. That pass will give players access to all post-launch content for Battlefield 1. That includes “They Shall Not Pass,” “In the Name of the Tsar,” “Turning Tides,” and “Apocalypse”; the game’s four downloadable expansions. It also includes 16 additional maps, several new game modes and operations, and a whole array of new vehicles, weapons, and elite classes. Ordinarily, the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass would cost players £39.99.

EA Offers the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass For Free Download

According to EA, the giveaway is their way of ending their “Road to Battlefield 5” promotional campaign; “The Battlefield 1 Premium Pass giveaway is set to run from September 11 to 18, as our way to capstone all the giveaways and rewards from the Road to Battlefield 5. This offer will let Battlefield 1 owners play everything Battlefield 1 Premium Pass has to offer for free.”

The move comes alongside the news that DICE will not offer a Premium Pass for Battlefield 5. The Battlefield 1 Premium Pass proved divisive among the game’s fan-base; some complained that it served to divide players among those who had access to DLC and those who did not. This is a problem which EA DICE eventually acknowledged, As such, Battlefield 5 will feature no Premium Pass or equivalent; in fact, a whole swathe of the game’s post-launch content will be free for all players.
