Nintendo Direct Officially Announced for September 6, Will Feature Both 3DS and Switch Games

Yet another Nintendo Direct has been announced, this one arriving tomorrow afternoon/evening on September 6, 2018. The Direct was announced on the official Nintendo of America just a bit earlier, noting that it will be around 35 minutes long and feature various titles both coming to Nintendo Switch and 3DS. The presentation will begin at 3 pm PT, 6 pm ET.

This latest Nintendo Direct is just one of several that have happened since the beginning of August. The first was the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct followed by the indie highlights presentation hosted exclusively by Nintendo UK then followed by the Nindies event that was just literally a week ago.

With the Nintendo Switch Online Service also set to release this month, it makes sense that we could also get some information about the subscription service during the Nintendo Direct tomorrow but it’s also possible that Nintendo is saving that for its own standalone Direct later this month.

This isn’t the first time Nintendo has hosted a Direct in September, with last year’s, in particular, being a grand slam with focuses on major titles like Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Octopath Traveler, and Pokemon Ultra Sun & Moon just being some of the games focused on during the presentation.

Most likely, we will get new details regarding upcoming fall and holiday titles like Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee!, Super Mario Party, Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country, and more. We don’t expect, though, for Smash to get any coverage if any at all. But what we do expect, however, is the announcement of the heavily rumored New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe package for this fall.

In addition, if last year’s September Nintendo Direct is anything go off of, we also expect some third-party titles to be shared. This includes an official Diablo 3 Eternal Collection release date and whatever else may be coming from prominent third-party publishers this year and next. Check back here tomorrow for the full roundup of what’s announced.
