The 2018-19 NFL Week 1 schedule has been out for months and now the first official game is just around the corner. Football fans are ready for the Madden roster updates in the video game. They’re also ready for that first game. On Thursday (Sep. 6), football fans will see the season kick off with the Atlanta Falcons challenging the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Thanks to the EA Sports’ Madden 19 simulation mode, this matchup and others are getting some early predictions just before the season gets going.
Madden 19 Simulation for Upcoming NFL Games
The first NFL game of the new season on Thursday night will feature the Eagles at home as they celebrate their Super Bowl win with the fans. They’ll also host the visiting Falcons, and based on the ATL team’s Twitter, their squad will come away with a win. A Madden 19 simulation of the entire game (over an hour long) was posted on the Falcons’ Twitter page (below) on Tuesday and has a final score of 19-7. It’s an interesting early prediction as oddsmakers have the Eagles favored by one or 1.5 points ahead of the real matchup.

For Eagles’ fans wanting another opinion, here’s another YouTube simulation which shows them taking the home game.
An intriguing matchup in the AFC will feature the Cincinnati Bengals at the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. As of this report, the Colts are three-point favorites at home. The Cincinnati Enquirer ran a Madden 19 simulation with six-minute quarters and the rosters that are currently available in the game. This was a close one with the Colts winning 17-14 at home, which would be a “push” on the spread for bettors who got in at three points for the spread.
Ravens’ Madden 19 Simulation is Surprising
For Baltimore Ravens fans, the news may be especially disappointing, though. USA Today’s Ravens Wire published the results of an entire simulated season. The team ended up going just 2-14 over the course of 16 games. In the Madden 19 simulation, they finished in absolute last place in the AFC North. The simulation also showed that the Ravens only managed 260 points all season and gave up 410 points to their opponents. However, USA Today’s Matthew Stevens points out that the Ravens scored 395 points compared to 303 given up.

Browns fans may become bigger fans of Madden 19 based on the division standings, as their team went 10-6 to take it. The Pittsburgh Steelers finished 9-7, with the Cincinnati Bengals behind them at 6-10. Still, the Ravens’ overall record could be suspect. The real games may start to expose which way this team is headed.
Interestingly, Baltimore will open at home against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon. The Ravens are currently favored by a touchdown or more at multiple sportsbooks, so this could be one of those two predicted wins on Madden 19. Or the game may have been a bit off.
EA Sports’ Madden 19 game is currently available for multiple platforms including PCs, PlayStation, and Xbox. The NFL 2018-19 regular season begins at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday night via NBC.
