The Last Remnant Remastered Brings the Square Enix Xbox 360 JRPG to PS4 This Year

The Last Remnant Remastered originally released as an Xbox 360 console exclusive but it will be making its way to a Sony platform for the first time later this year. The remastered version of the Square Enix JRPG will be releasing on PS4 worldwide on December 6, 2018. The remastered game will retail for $19.99 on the United States PlayStation Store.

News of The Last Remnant Remastered comes just after we reported how the game was no longer going to be available for purchase on PC via Steam. The removal of the original PC version of the game did seem odd at the time, though, we did suspect that this might be the case. As of right now, the JRPG has only been announced by Square Enix for PS4.

However, we do expect it to get a release on Steam as well. Given that the original title was removed, it certainly seems likely but it could be arriving later than the PS4 version. The Last Remnant Remastered will be actually based on the PC version of the game and not the Xbox 360 one, giving players the complete experience.

In addition, The Last Remnant Remastered will have an improved resolution and overall graphics due to a change in the game engine used for developing the title. The game itself is a very unique JRPG that blends together turn-based combat with tactical gameplay surrounding the usage of squads. There is truly no game like it around.

Fans can look forward to playing The Last Remnant Remastered when it releases just before the end of the year on December 6, 2018 in Japan, North America, and Europe on PS4. It will cost $19.99 digitally on the PlayStation Store while its Japanese counterpart will retail for around $35 USD. This isn’t the only HD port to come from Square Enix soon, as the Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD was also recently announced.
