Fortnite fans have been waiting for weeks for the update that would finally change things up significantly. Season 4 is now here, and it’s brought along tons of new changes with it. In Fortnite: Battle Royale, the meteor has landed, alright, but it didn’t get rid of Tilted Towers, so it looks like that random Redditor’s predictions came true! Now, you can expect to see gravity-defying Hop Rocks and various other fun additions strewn across the map, with new skins, emotes, and sprays as well as 100 tiers of new rewards.
It’s an excellent time to jump into Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode if you haven’t already, especially with all the cool new additions that were just introduced. Most importantly are the homages made with the new emotes!

That’s right, some of the coolest additions to come out of Season 4 being introduced is the new Battle Pass, with additional emotes, like the Orange Justice dance. Orange Justice is inspired by the Orange Shirt Kid meme, and you’ll be able to bust it out now whenever you’re feeling spunky.
There’s also a few others that you’ll recognize, such as the Groove Jam, which is taken from one of the funniest movies of all time: Napoleon Dynamite. Check out the video below for what it’s paying homage to.

What else has changed? You can check out the full patch notes for update 4.0 via Epic’s official website, but we’ve got the Cliff’s notes if you don’t feel like reading through a treasure trove of words.
For starters, there are brand new cities to explore in the form of Dusty Divot, Risky Reels, and more. Dusty Divot is the aftermath of the meteors hitting Dusty Depot, which is the most surprising development to come out of the entire event. It was such a huge plot point that it feels a little strange to talk about something else having spun out of the new Season 4 update.
If you’re playing through today after the new update hit, what are some of the coolest things you’ve come across? Let us know if you’ve grabbed any of the new emotes, too!
