This past week, EA revealed the start of their top 30 players for FIFA 19. As of Wednesday, the entire FIFA 19 top 20 player ratings are available. For the second-straight year, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is the No. 1 player in the game. However, another megastar is right up there with him and has the same rating as Ronaldo for the first time ever: Lionel Messi. Meanwhile, Neymar is working his way closer to taking a top two spot on the FIFA player ratings.
Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar Top FIFA 19 Top 20
It’s no surprise that the same three players from last year’s game continue their stay at the top for FIFA 19 players. Ronaldo has a 94 overall rating, but so does the No. 2 player, Lionel Messi. In last year’s game, Messi’s rating was a 93, so he was a notch below Ronaldo. Some fans feel Messi’s World Cup showing this past year was a reason for him to stay lower. However, the game developers decided these two are the best of the best and deserving of their shared rating.

They are also the only two players in the upcoming game with that 94 rating. The next closest is the No. 3 player Neymar (92). His 92 is the same rating he held in the FIFA 18 game. Neymar improved this year when it comes to his passing rating. In FIFA 18 he was rated 79 but has moved up to 83 there. He also moved up a bit in both dribbling (94 to 95) and defense (30 to 32) ratings but dropped from 60 to 59 for his physicality.
Here’s a look at the complete top 20 FIFA 19 players, per EA Sports’ website. Each player has their FIFA 19 rating next to their name with their FIFA 18 rank/rating in parentheses.

His fans in Brazil or rooting for Paris Saint-Germain will certainly be pleased with his higher rating, but he’s still slightly below the two best in the international football game.
Notable FIFA 19 Top 20 Changes
Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane received a huge boost in the latest ratings and player rankings. Kane was the No. 53 player with an 86 rating for FIFA 18, but has catapulted into the top 20 this year with an improved 89 rating.
Kevin De Bruyne and Luka Modric also jumped for outside of the top 10 into the top five players overall for the new game. Diego Godin, Jan Oblak, and N’Golo Kante each made impressive moves into the top 20 rankings.
Some of the players who fell out of the FIFA 19 top 20 included last year’s No. 14 Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal and No. 10 Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus. Gareth Bale also fell out of the top 20 this year but was part of FIFA’s player ratings for players ranked from No. 40 to No. 31 this year.
Now that all of the player ratings are official, fans will have to wait a few weeks to play the game at the end of the month (September 28th). The good news is that FIFA 19 is releasing a demo version on Thursday (Sept. 13) for fans to check out.
