TwitchCon 2018 is just a month away and with it comes tournaments and events for various popular titles featured in the popular straming platform. That’s where you’ll be able to catch the first Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout tournament after its release and it will include a strong cast of players.
As Activision Blizzard announced, the Doritos Bowl Blackout tournament will take place in the TwitchCon venue, which will take place on the 26th and 27th of October. Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Ben “DrLupo” Lupo, Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek and Jack “CouRage” Dunlop will compete in the tournament along with other players on the second day of the convention. The famous players will make their own squads and battle in the upcoming battle royale title. Shroud stated:
“I am very excited to be involved in Doritos Bowl; the event should be really fun, and I am quite interested to see how my team will stack up against the squads that Ninja, DrLupo and CouRage have put together”
What’s interesting is that Fortnite, the game that made Ninja’s carrier as a content creator and player skyrocket will also have its own tournament during TwitchCon. We don’t know if the players can and will compete in this one as well, however, its prize pool is enticing for everyplayer.

As ESPN pointed out, the Fortnite Fall Skirmish, which is ending with the grand finals at TwitchCon has a prizepool of 10 million dollars, more than any other major series we’ve seen this year.
Will the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout tournament manage to establish itself during the time of its release and TwitchCon? Activision and Treyarch have made an exceptional work of keeping the game optimized and well marketed during its promotion period and beta, something that will prove beneficial at the game’s launch.
We’ll have to wait until launch though to see if it is all about the hype though or if Blackout will manage to make an impact in the battle royale genre though.
