Could The Elder Scrolls Blades be Played in 4K on Apple TV?

The Elder Scrolls Blades was unveiled at E3. Although no release date has been announced, Bethesda has stated that it should release before the end of the year. The game was recently showcased at a major iPhone keynote. Although it is primarily a mobile title, The Elder Scrolls Blades is also coming to PC. Given that Bethesda appears to be working with Apple for promotional purposes, what are the chances that the game could come to the Apple TV?

The Elder Scrolls Blades on Apple TV

The Elder Scrolls Blades is Bethesda’s first foray into mobile gaming since the release of Fallout Shelter in 2015. Todd Howard had wanted to release the game at E3, as the studio did with Fallout Shelter. However, that proved to be impossible, and it is now anticipated to release some time before the end of 2018. The game is playable on both PC and mobile devices, and features cross-play between those platforms. It even features VR support. Notably, the game features “console-quality graphics,” according to Todd Howard. The Bethesda director said as much at E3.

Elder Scrolls Blades Will Launch for Mobile and PC

Howard recently made an appearance at a major Apple event to show off the game in conjunction with the iPhone X. Bethesda and Apple appear to have some sort of partnership in place for the upcoming mobile game. Back at E3, Howard made a point to say; “Believe me when I say you have to see this running on an iPhone X; this gigantic screen does not do it justice,” during the Bethesda presentation. Given that the two companies appear to working together, and Blades has “console-quality” graphics, there is a possibility that the game could get compatibility with the Apple TV.

The primary limitation with playing Blades through an Apple TV would, of course, be the touchscreen. However, the game’s PC version presumably has non-touchscreen controls. It’s certainly within the realm of possibility that Bethesda could go in that direction.
