The increased focus on accepting and completing bounties which was introduced in Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion has been met with overall praise since it gives players of all stripes clear tasks to focus on. However, having to pick up different groups of bounties from different NPC’s has proven to be a tiresome and frustrating experience for most players, so one devoted fan came up with a solution that….somehow feels familiar.

A Redditor who sports the very odd handle of _–___—- (yes, that’s their actual Reddit handle) recently put up this post on the official Destiny subreddit. The post proposes a potential solution to the problem of having to visit multiple NPC’s (some of which are in entirely separate parts of Destiny 2’s world) just to get all of the bounties on offer, though longtime Destiny fans will soon realize that the proposed solution isn’t entirely original.
Here’s what _–___—- suggests:
- A centralized bounty board located in the Tower social space
- The board will allow players to instantly grab bounties from several different categories (strikes, Crucible, open-world play, special events, etc.) all in one place.
- A helpful robot would stand nearby to help call attention to the board and offer players colorful dialogue whenever they approached.
In case you haven’t gotten the joke by now, _–___—-‘s “solution” directly mirrors the *actual* bounty board that was part of the original Destiny, complete with “concept art” which is just screenshots of the old bounty board and its helpful robot curator, Xander 99-40. Clearly the solution proposed by _–___—- is a clever little dig at Bungie, highlighting the fact that there was a perfectly good (and convenient) bounty system in the original Destiny, and for some reason Bungie felt it had to make the process of acquiring bounties more complicated and tedious in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 producer Scott Taylor recently discussed how he and his team plan on expanding the game in the near future, maybe they could insert a centralized Tower bounty board into those plans somewhere? The game’s community would undoubtedly appreciate it.
