New Version of Skyrim’s Awesome Artifacts Mod Launches on NexusMods
A new version of the Awesome Artifacts Skyrim mod has launched; version 1.3.6. The mod offers fans an overhaul of the game’s unique items. It aims to make these artifacts much more powerful and distinctive, though without being game-breakingly overpowered. The latest version focuses on items like Ebony Mail and Targe of the Blooded Bash.
Version 1.3.6 of the Awesome Artifacts Skyrim Mod
The Awesome Artifacts Skyrim mod was first launched on NexusMods in November of 2017 by a modder who goes by Argonil. The modder describes the project as a “lightweight unique items overhaul”; essentially, it aims to improve the various unique items in Skyrim without either ruining immersion of unbalancing the game.
“This mod is the fine cheese for your Skyrim burger,” says Argonil; “it’s the result of years of tinkering with Skyrim’s lacklustre unique items to do them justice. Yes, I’m saying it’s another unique items overhaul. Mostly anyway. The mods I found for the bland unique items were always poorly made or too boring or far too overpowered, so I took it into my own hands and ended up here. Awesome Artifacts aims to be lightweight and of high quality, to have effects that are unique and fun, to stay true to the original theme and be immersive, and finally, to keep things balanced enough to make things interesting. The only item that’s truly overpowered is Ysmir, but I think that’s reasonable.”
The mod’s latest version is v1.3.6. The last update addressed issues with Miraak’s Staff, Miraak’s Sword, Ebony Mail, and Skull of Corruption. This time, the focus is on three items:
- “Entirely removed the black outline effect on Ebony Mail’s shadow cloak because of how it looked on hair and how it bugged with other shaders.”
- “The shadow cloak now does 8 DPS to Health and 2 DPS to Stamina.
- “Targe of the Blooded bash now does 5 bleeding damage on impact and 20 points over 5 seconds, while reducing the target’s Health regeneration by 100%.”
