New Mod Update Improves Clouds and Weather for The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 Custom Clouds and Weather mod first launched on NexusMods back in May of 2017. Since then, the mod has become enduringly popular with Witcher 3 players; the mod has accrued over 17,000 total downloads. The latest update to this Witcher 3 mod launched two days ago and adds some new tweaks to improve the visual effects even further.
The Latest Update for the Custom Clouds and Weather Witcher 3 Mod
The Witcher 3 Custom Clouds and Weather mod is the work of a modder who goes by “TookaFace”. The mod takes a fairly simple premise; creating custom clouds and weather, and delivers a stunning set of new visuals. TookaFace achieved these results by tweaking the game’s existing weather conditions and clouds files. The mod makes major improvements to exposure for all weathers, zones, and clouds, adds a greater number of clouds, greater contrast, and a better look for the sun when it’s behind the clouds.
The latest version of the Witcher 3 mod launched on the 27th of September; Version 3.0.2. The new update includes three main areas of improvement. Firstly, the colour consistency of water has been improved during both good and bad weathers. Secondly, tweaks have been made to the heavy_cloud weather in the Novigrad and Velen regions. Finally, the moon size during good and bad weathers in Novigrad has been made more consistent.
The end result of the tweaks and improvements speak for themselves; the skies of The Witcher 3 were already impressive, but with this mod they become truly stunning. Moreover, players can expect to see these visual improvements no matter what time of day or type of weather they look at. Players looking to download the mod should note that TookaFace recommends using it in conjunction with the Motion Blur Toussaint mod (STLM Version). This secondary mod fixes one problem with clouds in The Witcher 3 which is not included in this particular mod.
