Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Cross-Play Might Become A Reality

Fans have almost given up hope when it comes to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Cross-Play possibility. After a brief period that everything seemed grim, Sony announced the Fortnite Cross-Play beta and now the fire is back again. Activision-Blizzard is positive about the possibility of their games featuring cross-play and will see how it can be done the right way.

Slowly and carefully, the cross-play restrictions are losing ground, giving place to an era where all players will share the same games. Drama aside, fans have been waiting for Sony to give the green light to at least one game for this to become a reality. Now that Fortnite has given that chance, the wheels are turning.

According to Activision-Blizzard, there’s still much work to be done in that aspect. However, they’ll keep trying to polish it until the road is clear. In a recent blog post, they stated:

“We’ve had a great experience with cross-play for Hearthstone on other platforms and have witnessed how compelling it can be for our community.

There’s still a lot of work to do on both our side and the platform side to understand whether cross-play might be integrated into our other games.

So we’ll be watching the upcoming test and will assess what the potential impact of this feature would be for our players and our games.”

It’s truth that the Black Ops 4 cross-play function won’t just pop up and be available. It will require testing and a lot of safety meassures just assure that all players will have a great experience. All developers know it and that’s why it will take some time for it to happen.

If you ask us, the fact that a player with a keyboard and a mouse can play against one with controller is unfair. However, there’s a big percentage of players that cannot play with their friends so let’s hope that cross platform play will be available soon.
