Fortnite Battle Royale has received a small patch on Wednesday, October 3. The game developer has released a few bug fixes with the v6.01 patch, as well as Playground limited-time game mode changes and a new trap, the Chiller. The trap is meant to be used against enemies, but Fortnite players have found another purpose for it.
Even though the Chiller has been out for only a few hours, players have found a few ways to use it for mobility. The new trap allows players to move much faster over the island and even outrun the storm.
Quick movement with the Chiller
So far, Fortnite Battle Royale players have found two ways to quickly move over the map with the Chiller. One of these tricks can be used around the rune by Pleasant Park, while the other one requires Shockwave Grenades.
The rune movement trick is very simple and was shared by VeSportsHades on Reddit. To do it, all you need to do is to put the Chiller on the floor next to the rune. After this, the trap will freeze you and you will slide to the rune, which will propel you in the air. Even after landing, your character will still have the momentum and will be able to move quickly.
The second trick was shared by /u/SchwarzENTegger and it requires Shockwave Grenades. This time, you will have to play the Chiller on a short ramp and start running down. After the freeze effect, all you have to do is to throw a Shockwave Grenade to throw yourself away and gain an insane speed boost.
Considering that the trap was recently released, we can expect Fortnite players to come up with more creative tricks. For now, these two tricks should come in handy and help you gain an advantage over your opponent!
