Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Developer Monolith Soft Hiring for New RPG, Most Likely Xenoblade-Related

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 developer Monolith Soft is now hiring for a brand new JRPG. This new RPG (as seen in the screenshot above) is most likely related to the Xenoblade franchise in some way. This could mean a remake, a numbered entry, a new spin-off, or so on as we’ll go over in a moment. First, here’s what we know and why it’s most likely a Xenoblade game.

The recent job posting focuses entirely on the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise. This particular project is being made by the Monolith Soft Division 1 team. This development team is the one that created all three current Xenoblade games in the series. The original on Wii, X on Wii U, and 2 on Nintendo Switch.

The art also shows what looks to be the Mechonis from the original Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii. This isn’t the only information that lends credence that this will be the next game in the series. There is another job posting on the Monolith Soft website. Unlike the first one, that one is related to the previously teased fantasy project.

As such, it doesn’t mention the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise in the posting. Monolith Soft has already grown to 178 employees currently through recent hiring. Now that we know that we can pretty much expect another entry in the Xenoblade series in the future, what will it be? There are a few different options that are likely.

First and foremost, it could be Xenoblade Chronicles 3 but we don’t think so. Monolith Soft has shown it is willing to experiment some – such as the case with X – so it makes to take a break. It’s possible we could see the much-anticipated follow-up/sequel to X but that would be a few years from now. In the meantime, it wouldn’t be surprising if we got an X Deluxe port on Switch.
