Later this month, CD Projekt Red will simultaneously release two major Gwent products; Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, and Gwent: Homecoming. Thronebreaker is a standalone, single-player RPG with over thirty hours of story content. Homecoming, on the other hand, is a major overhaul and update for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. With its release just a few weeks away, CD Projekt Red has launched an Open PTR. The event will only be available for the next five days, ending on the 9th of October. Fans will be able to play the Homecoming update early and submit feedback.
Gwent: Homecoming Available in Open PTR
Project Homecoming is the long-awaited full release of Gwent, which has been in beta form since its original launch. CD Projekt Red announced the new Open PTR in a news post on the official Gwent website; “GWENT is finishing its beta phase and is almost ready for release!” explains DICE; “Project Homecoming brought a lot of changes to the game you know as GWENT: The Witcher Card Game and we’d like to give you a chance to play it and give us your feedback before the proper launch on October 23rd. You can join the Open PTR, as well as check out the overview of the main changes introduced with Homecoming, on our dedicated PTR website: http://www.playgwent.com/open-ptr.”

Players who join the Open PTR can experience the new version of Gwent early. Homecoming includes some major changes; alterations to minimum deck size, card recruit costs… not to mention the removal of Silver Cards completely. Order Abilities and Traps are just some of the new gameplay mechanics, along with Summoning. Although Homecoming will be coming to all versions of Gwent, the Open PTR is only available on PC, via the GOG Galaxy client. It opens today, and will close on the 9th of October at 12:00 PM CEST.
