At last, Bethesda has announced the release date of the final Elder Scrolls Online DLC for 2018; the upcoming Murkmire DLC. Murkmire was first unveiled at E3 earlier this year, alongside Wolfhunter, which launched several months ago. As per usual for an ESO DLC, Bethesda has announced the release dates just a few weeks ahead of time.
The Murkmire DLC Release Dates
Murkmire has followed Bethesda’s release trends fairly closely in recent weeks. In the same manner as Wolfhunter, Bethesda released the DLC on the game’s PTS servers before announcing a release date. Now, the release dates have been announced with just a few weeks to go before the launch. The Murkmire DLC game pack will launch on both PC and Mac on the 22nd of October; in just under two weeks’ time. It will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One two weeks later, on the 6th of November. As per usual, the DLC will be free to all members of the ESO Plus subscription service. Other players can purchase it with crowns from the Crown Store. Interestingly, there is one other way to get it; if you log into The Elder Scrolls: Online for 24+ days during November, you will earn the Murkmire DLC as a reward.
Murkmire will be the first region DLC since the release of the Summerset DLC. Although Wolfhunter included a lot of new content, it did not add any new regions to the game. Murkmire won’t be quite as large as Summerset, but does add the new Murkmire region of Black Marsh to the game. That region includes a huge amount of new content and delves into Argonian history and culture in a way that has never been done in an Elder Scrolls game before. The DLC features a new join-able faction, a new Group Arena called Blackrose Prison, and plenty more.
