Nintendo Drops Four New NES Games on Switch, Including Surprise The Legend of Zelda Title

Nintendo released four new NES games on Nintendo Switch today as part of the online service. Three of them we already knew about already but one was a surprise stealth release alongside the others. That game is a special version of an already available title. It is The Legend of Zelda SP or Living the life of luxury!

The oddly titled game is a revamped version of the original The Legend of Zelda game on NES. Subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online Service can already play that game right now but this modified version is unique. Similar to a hacked ROM of the NES title, SP comes with all items already unlocked and 255 Rupees.

That’s right, you start out the game with every single thing you need already unlocked. This includes the Silver Sword, Blue Ring, Power Bracelet, and even three Heart Containers. All you need to do is take on the dungeons in whatever order you like and defeat Ganon as always. This version eases off the need for grinding and searching for these sometimes hidden items.

The Legend of Zelda SP is a great version for players who have already beat the game before or have a tough time. It could also bring an interesting twist to speedruns, given that it is an official Nintendo version now. However, this wasn’t the only game to release for the NES library today.

In addition to The Legend of Zelda SP, three other NES titles joined the Nintendo Switch Online Service today. The three other NES games are Solomon’s Key, NES Open Tournament Golf, and Super Dodge Ball. Solomon’s Key is a puzzle platforming game with a ton of levels to complete. NES Golf, however, is a golfing game that features Nintendo characters like Mario. Lastly, Super Dodge Ball is a competitive dodgeball sports game.
