Treyarch Shares First Tease for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Zombies Mode

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is getting its official reveal soon, but it seems that developer Treyarch is already into the information-dropping spirit, with a puzzling new tweet the company put out today. It’s our first look at the game’s upcoming zombies mode, and it’s already looking pretty awesome.

The image posted with the tweet “So it begins… #Zombies” shows off a zombie removing some sort of bizarre mask from its rotting face, but there’s something much different and more sinister here, it seems. The zombie’s face and hand looks rotten, alright, but it looks like there’s some sort of intelligence behind its eyes. What does this mean? We’re not sure, but it’s certainly intriguing.

The symbols seem to be a mix of astrological and zodiac symbols with other unidentifiable code, but it’s not immediately clear what any of this means. Obviously, that’s Treyarch’s aim, because the studio won’t be revealing anything crazy ahead of its official event, but even this small taste is appreciated.

Perhaps the symbols are part of a code that fans will end up deciphering, but right now it’s tough to say. All we know for sure is that we’ll be finding more out about the game when it finally gets its time in the spotlight on May 17, 2018. That’s next week, so make sure you tune into Treyarch’s social media accounts and VGR for a full rundown of the big reveal. We’ll make sure you’re up to date on everything you need to know about the new Zombies mode (if we hear more about it that day) and what Black Ops 4 will actually entail.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases October 12, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
