Around four weeks ago, CD Projekt Red launched a poster contest for the release of Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, the studio’s newest RPG. The contest called for fan artists to submit original pieces of artwork in the form of movie-style posters. The submissions were judged by CD Projekt Red’s Community Manager, Lead Graphic Designer, and Marketing Creative Team Director. The trio have now announced the winners of the contest.

The Winners of the Thronebreaker Poster Contest
The 1st prize of the Thronebreaker contest goes to artist Barbara G., who created a dramatic and stylistic rendition of Queen Meve at the head of her army, with their reflection in a river of blood resembling the silhouettes of Nilfgaardians. Barbara has won the 1st prize, which is a Wacom Intuos Pro M tablet, a copy of Thronebreaker, and a game goodie bag. The 2nd prize went to Fadly R., who submitted an ensemble poster featuring Meve standing over Geralt of Rivia and surrounded by other characters who will feature in the game. The 2nd prize is the same as the 1st, but the tablet is a Wacom Intuos M Bluetooth tablet.
The final 3rd prize went to Ilya S. Their poster depicts Queen Meve presumably standing on the bridge during the Battle of the Bridge on the Yaruga, beside Geralt of Rivia and Dandelion. The battle is likely to be a major event during Thronebreaker’s story; the battle where Meve meets Geralt, and later knights him. This event is why Geralt is known thereafter as Geralt “of Rivia”. The 3rd place prize is again much the same, but includes a Wacom Intuos S tablet instead.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales releases today on PC via GOG.com. It launches alongside Homecoming, a major update for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. With the release of Homecoming, Gwent is now officially out of beta.
