Red Dead Redemption 2: How to Complete the Ellie Anne Swan Bounty

Bounty hunting is one of the many side activities available in Red Dead Redemption 2. Protagonist Arthur Morgan may be an outlaw, but as they say, you don’t send a saint to find a sinner. Plus, it helps that local law enforcement is willing to pay Morgan for his services. In this guide, we’ll show you all the steps needed to find and capture the bounty target Ellie Anne Swan.

Starting the Bounty Hunter Mission

You can start the bounty mission by visiting the Sheriff’s office in Valentine and grabbing the wanted poster. You might have to complete the Benedict Allbright bounty mission before the Ellie Anne Swan bounty shows up. Once the Ellie Anne Swan bounty is active, you’ll be directed to head south out of Valentine.

How to Find Ellie Anne Swan in Red Dead Redemption 2

Keep going south, following the Dakota River past Cumberland Falls until you reach the highlighted location. Once you reach Ellie’s last known location, you’ll spot her with a male NPC companion. Be sure to ready your lasso as you approach since Ellie is a lot more dangerous than she looks. As soon as she spots you, she’ll brandish a knife and start swinging it wildly. Ignore the male NPC and focus strictly on Ellie.

Red Dead Redemption 2's Ellie Anne Swan bounty won't go quietly.

Lasso Ellie before she can hurt anyone (especially you) and hogtie her. Throw her over your horse and head back to the Valentine Sheriff’s office to complete the bounty. Ellie must be alive if you want your payday, hence why the lasso is the best tool for the job.
