Treyarch has released a substantial new game update for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 as of October 30. The Black Ops 4 update has several major talking points, but one of particular note is the spawn issues affecting the multiplayer component.
Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Oct. 30 Update
The patch notes for the October 30 update are quite exhaustive. However, Treyarch has gone ahead and summarized several of the update’s more noticeable changes and additions. For example, players can now participate in the Gun Game multiplayer mode. In Gun Game, players start with a specific weapon and switch to a new weapon when they score a kill. The first player to earn a kill with all of the available weapons wins the match. Gun Game is a featured playlist and will remain available until November 6.
Another exciting part from the Black Ops 4 patch notes is Treyarch’s addressing of spawn issues. Situations where a player spawns near an enemy and is insta-killed have been abnormally high since launch. Treyarch has heard fan complaints and is adjusting spawn points on maps such as Summit, Arsenal, Firing Range, and Icebreaker. More adjustments will be made in future updates, but these initial changes should at least lower players’ frustrations.
The update also makes some tweaks to all of Black Ops 4’s weapon categories. Specifically, Assault Rifles have been slightly nerfed to ensure they remain as the “balanced” weapon class. SMG’s, meanwhile, have had their damage range increased to further benefit their “run-and-gun” engagement style. LMG’s have been nerfed slightly while Sniper Rifles have had their damage and stability boosted.
Changes have been made to Blackout and Zombies as well, but multiplayer was the main focus by far. Still, Blackout fans should enjoy the 100-player solo playlist while Zombies fans will appreciate increased XP gains on higher difficulties.
