Fortnite’s Version 4.2 Patch Delayed, So Grab The Chicken Emote While Waiting

If you were looking forward to the next Fortnite patch, you’ll be waiting a little bit longer now, unfortunately. The new patch, Version 4.2, has been delayed as of this evening due to Epic uncovering some unspecified issues. While the company is looking into the issues, some quests may also be having issues. So if you’re playing the game right now and experiencing some problems, it could be related to the issues keeping the patch from being released.

Version 4.2 was supposed to release today with a bit of downtime scheduled to go alongside it, but Epic Games didn’t say how long the downtime might last. It’s coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions of the game, with the mobile port excluded for now. There are no patch notes available to run down what you can expect from the patch and everything it’s meant to fix, but you’ll be able to check them out when the issues plaguing the patch are resolved.

For one, the patch will be taking out the Infinity Gauntlet mode from the game which lets you turn into Thanos or take out the players who have found the gauntlet before you — it can be a struggle to kill those players, so you’ll need all the help you can possibly get.

In the meantime, there’s another dance emote up for grabs, and this one is pretty ridiculous. It’s the Chicken emote, and it looks like a person hopping from one foot to another while clapping their hands. You can see it below, with a spritely green-haired player giving it a go. It’ll only be available for a limited time, so if you like what you see, you’ll need to make sure you you snap it up quickly.

When the update goes live and the patch notes go live, we’ll make sure you have them to pore over in the interim.
