If you’re a completionist or hunting fan, you’ll want to know where to hunt Red Dead Redemption 2 bison. The bison is but one of many different species of animals that you can hunt down and also fish. The hunting system in this outlaw game is deep and rich, offering many unique critters to take down.
One of those such critters is the Red Dead Redemption 2 bison. Big, bulky, hairy, and slow, this creature is one of the bigger animals you can take down. Of course, doing so will require you to know its exact location on the map. Considering how large and varied the open world is, finding the bison can actually be pretty tricky if you don’t know where to look.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Bison Location
There are actually a few different locations where you can find the bison for hunting. There are a total of four spots that we have discovered thus far. The majority of them are located in the New Hanover state that you visit early on in the game. There are three spots located around that state.
The first of these is directly south of the New Hanover town of Valentine. The second is much farther to the east on the map around the area where the “A” in New Hanover is located. Finally, the third spot in that state is just directly north of Flat Iron Lake and just east of Flatneck Station. As for the other spot, you can also find Red Dead Redemption 2 bison in West Elizabeth.
The West Elizabeth location for bison is found just southwest of the city of Blackwater. You can find bison roaming around the Great Plains there. If you’re looking to get a perfect pelt while hunting the bison, you are going to want to either use a bow with improved arrows or the Long Shot rifle.
