Like the vampire and fences, finding the Red Dead Redemption 2 gang hideout locations is important. These locations are especially important for players who wish to achieve that coveted 100 percent completion rating. Of course, like always, finding the gang hideout locations is easier said than actually done. Thankfully, that’s where we come in as we have all of the locations right here.
Interestingly enough, the game doesn’t explain to you that most of these are really easy to get. Relatively early on in the story, you will encounter your very first gang hideout. It’s a major fight and the game lets you know there are more like that one in the world. However, it stops right there without letting you know more. In fact, this can be a little misleading. Here’s why.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Gang Hideout Locations
There are six of these gang hideout locations in total in the game world. All six of them are needed to be completed in order to get 100 percent game completion. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t tell you that you should just wait until it is about over before you should worry about them. This is because four of the six gang hideouts are completed during the main story.
Of course, you complete the very first one early in the story during chapter two. Three more subsequently follow as you play the game. There is one in chapter three, another in chapter five, and one more in chapter six. That gives four of the six right there with only two left to finish after the main story.
These two are left for the game’s lengthy epilogue sequence. Both of the final two Red Dead Redemption 2 gang hideout locations are in the state of New Austin. Thieves Landing is the first of the two and is found near the eastern border of New Austin by the river that connects to Flat Iron Lake. Fort Mercer is found near the middle of the state in the Big Bravo region. If you own the Special or Ultimate Edition, there is a bonus gang hideout found in the northern side of the state at Twin Rocks.
