Latest Battlefield 5 Update Addresses Locked Weapons Bug

Yesterday, DICE released another small Battlefield 5 update. While a much larger and more significant update is planned for the 4th of December, this was a server update. While its primary purpose was fixing minor server issues, it did bring a few bug fixes with it too. It also made some changes to team balancing.

The Latest Battlefield 5 Update and Its Effects

The latest Battlefield 5 update, which went live for all platforms yesterday, was a server update rather than a game update. What that means is that you won’t have had to download anything; most of the changes made were on the server end of things. The biggest fix that comes with the new update is a patch for a weapon unlocking bug. Some players were apparently experiencing a bug where certain weapons were not unlocking when they were meant to. With the new update, a fix for that problem should now be in effect.

Additionally, the new update made further changes to the game’s online team balancing. This is an area which previous updates have also tweaked. The goal for the changes is to reduce any major discrepancies between the size or skill of opposing teams. The update also made general server stability improvements, as one would expect. It also fixed a bug which could cause players to disconnect when they tried to join a server.

All in all, this latest patch was small but meaningful. Gamers can look forward to a much more substantial one in a week’s time. The next major update will launch on the 4th of December; the same day that the first Tides of War chapter will become available. While that will introduce a new game mode, map, and War Story, among other things, the patch is set to address some of the biggest bugs and areas where players feel tweaks are needed.
