If not, we’ll give you tips to ensure that you don’t actually lose progress. With so many issues at launch, it’s no surprise players are worried about losing progress. How to Use the Red Dead Online Save Feature

Let’s go ahead and get the first answer out of the way. If you are wondering about a manual save system, no, there isn’t one at all online. Unfortunately, there is no way to select the “story” tab like in the singleplayer and manually save. This is most likely because everything is done online. Unfortunately, there are caveats that come with this method, though.

For one, it is entirely possible to lose a bit of progress if you disconnect. This is really unfortunate given how frequently we’ve personally disconnected since the online’s launch. As such, we recommend that you wait a minute or two after completing a mission and so on before logging out.

This will give time for the game’s servers to autosave your progress so you won’t lose it. Worst case scenario, it is rare that you do lose progress if you do disconnect in the middle of a mission. For instance, we disconnected near the end of a mission and wasn’t able to complete it. However, we still had the experience gained from it when we logged back in.
