Ballon d’Or 2018 Winner Predicted By FIFA 19 Along With Winners Until 2027

Among the highest honors in the international football world is the Ballon d’Or and 2018 has some of the best in the game as contenders. FIFA 19 gamers are quite familiar with the men who are up for the coveted award, but one gamer took it upon himself to run a simulated prediction. That gamer not only ran a prediction for the Ballon d’Or 2018 winner but the next group of nine winners with some surprising results coming out.

Ballon d’Or 2018 winner is?

The FIFA video game offers a unique feature in which a “Player of the Year” (known as Ballon d’Or for soccer fans) is announced after each season. According to a Fox Sports Asia report, a YouTuber known as TheMasterBucks took advantage of the feature in FIFA 19 to see who the 2018 winner is. It wasn’t who the experts are predicting either.

Unsurprisingly, the Ballon d’Or 2018 winner is Lionel Messi. He came into the FIFA 19 game tied at the top with cover athlete Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of their FIFA 19 player ratings. However, only one player can win that prestigious award and Messi is the best of the best. Oddsmakers and fans may disagree, though. The Best FIFA Men’s Player of 2018 claimed an award several months ago.

Messi won the award for four straight years (2009-2012) before Ronaldo won back to back awards (2013, 2014). Messi grabbed another in 2015, while Ronaldo has won the last two now. That sets up the potential for one of the two players to take a 6-5 lead in terms of capturing the award.

However, a report via UK’s Standard indicated that the favorite at the moment is Luka Modric. So FIFA 19 may have some explaining to do when Messi doesn’t win. Then again, this is one gamer’s prediction.

Future Ballon d’Or winners

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has faced plenty of controversy over the past several months. He’s still amongst the greats in the game today, and based on TheMasterBuck’s predictions, Ronaldo will take the Ballon d’Or in 2019. That would make it 6-6 in terms of the battle between Ronaldo and Messi for the award. It would also mean no wins for Luka Modric in the next few years.

With the two players evening their all-time Ballon d’Or score, it appears their run is going to stop. Another player will emerge to claim multiple awards and it’s not Kylian Mbappe. Instead, Paulo Dybala is set to win the award in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024, based onĀ FIFA 19 predictions. The 2021 Ballon d’Or goes to Phillipe Coutinho.

The surprising result comes in 2025 when Alex Hunter comes out of nowhere to shock the world and claim the award. Anything’s possible in the world of sports, and especially in the FIFA 19 video game world!

Who will end up as the 2018 Ballon d’Or 2018 winner and who will claim next year’s prize? The world finds out later on Monday, December 3.
