Red Dead Online Dual Wield: How to Dual Wield Online

Like hunting for animals or fishing for salmon, the Red Dead Online Dual Wield feature crosses over from the singleplayer story. It allows you to wield two pistols at once, one in each hand. This is a favorite way to go into gunfights for many players. As such, it’s important to know how and where to unlock this feature so you can use it online.

In this guide, we are going to go over how to unlock the Red Dead Online Dual Wield. There are some requirements that must be fulfilled before you can do it. In addition, how you actually go about unlocking it is oddly different than what you do in the offline story mode. Here’s everything you need to know.

How to Red Dead Online Dual Wield

Red Dead Online Dual Wield

First and foremost, yes, you can dual wield pistols in Red Dead Online. In the singleplayer story, you unlock through completing the main story missions. At one point in the story, it just unlocks and you have access from then on. Interestingly enough, there is the main story that you can play through in Red Dead Online, too.

However, you don’t unlock the Red Dead Online Dual Wield feature through it. Instead, all you need to do is visit a gunsmith and purchase the extra holster for under $10. The problem, though, is you must be at least rank 25 in order to purchase one of the extra holsters. As such, you might have to grind in order to reach that level.

If you haven’t reached rank 25 just yet but want to unlock Red Dead Online Dual Wield as soon as possible, you can grind for XP easily. We recommend just queueing up for story missions as it’s one of the fastest ways to grind XP early on and rank up to level 25.
