Latest Battlefield 5 Update Fixes Menu Crash Bugs

The latest Battlefield 5 patch is now out across all platforms. This update is notably smaller than others which have preceded it, but it nonetheless addresses several major bugs. Namely, it implements a fix for several bugs which caused game crashes while players were in the menu or certain game modes.

The Latest Battlefield 5 Patch and What it Includes

The most recent Battlefield 5 patch was rolled out across all platforms earlier this week; “This is a small update which fixes a few issues that are high on our priority list,” says DICE; “We are currently working on our next bigger client update, which is planned to be released in January.”

Battlefield 5 Patch Fixes Game Crash Bugs

Given that the Christmas period is likely to pose a small disruption to work at DICE, it seems likely that the studio chose to release a small patch now to fix what problems they could now so that players wouldn’t have to wait longer for fixes. Overall, the latest patch fixes seven different bugs. Three of these are fixes for game crashes. One of these bugs could occur simply when in the Tides of War menu, while the other two occurred in the Nordlys War Story, and while playing Practice Range as a squad.

The patch also changes the game so that players don’t get spotted on the mini-map when they kill an enemy. There was one audio fix included, where the audio could break while players were watching tutorial videos. The penultimate alteration is a change to the initial respawn count for certain maps in the Domination game mode. Finally, the patch fixes a bug which randomly caused higher-level Recon players to lose access to their Throwing Knives. Overall, this is a relatively small patch. However, Battlefield 5 players are likely to appreciate the fixes, especially to those bugs which caused game crashes.
