As Hitman 2’s Memoirs challenge proves, not all of the game’s challenges involve killing a target. The challenge, which is located in the game’s Mumbai destination, involves finding all of the Maelstrom’s pre-recorded tapes. There are five tapes in total to find, and this guide walks you through where to find all of them.
Hitman 2 Memoirs Setup
As you may have guessed, the Memoirs challenge requires no special equipment or unlocks. The only tool that’s requires is your basic lockpick. You can also begin the mission at the default starting location.
Hitman 2 Memoirs Walkthrough
Finding the First Tape
As soon as the mission begins, run straight ahead to the west, making sure to avoid the suspicious guard. When you pass a pair of glowing signs on your right, turn right so that you’re heading north. Keep going north and then take your first left. Go straight and you’ll reach a large paneled door with a mural on it. Be sure to take note of this door if you haven’t yet done the Shave Mumbai challenge.
Turn right at the mural, making sure to avoid the suspicious guard, and keep looking to your right. You should see a staircase opposite the mural with some skulls hanging in front of it. Head up the staircase and in the room at the top you’ll find the first tape.
Finding the Second Tape
Head down the stairs and at the bottom turn right and go straight through the passageway leading west. Follow the passageway leading around to the left and keep going straight until you reach a courtyard. Immediately turn right and look for an open doorway leading into an empty shoe store. Sitting on the counter near the store’s cash register is the second tape.
Finding the Third Tape
Exit out of the shoe store’s northern entrance and immediately hook around to the left to find an alley. The third tape is lying on the ground at the opposite end of the alley.
Finding the Fourth Tape
Take the western passage in the alley and then turn left so you’re heading south. Take your next left and you’ll emerge in another courtyard. Exit the courtyard to the south, making sure to avoid the suspicious guards. Head over the small bridge and then take your first right. Keep going straight, taking a slight right so you pass through a blue-tinted hallway and a bead curtain.
Straight past the bead curtain is a building with a locked door. Use your lockpick to pass through into the building and head up to the second floor. You’ll find the fourth tape lying in plain sight on a desk.
Finding the Fifth Tape
Head back down to the first floor and move over to the opposite door from which you entered. Use Instinct mode to watch the patrolling guards and wait until their backs are turned. When the coast is clear, open the door and sneak down the stairs into the Maelstrom’s underground compound.
At the bottom of the stairs, turn left and go straight to find another locked door. Pick the lock and you’ll find the final tape lying on a palette crate right in front of you.
