Super Smash Bros Ultimate New Game Plus: What It Does

There is so much to do in Super Smash Bros Ultimate like unlocking new characters like Ridley to completing rematches. And that’s just the offline normal Smash modes. That’s not even including the full-length singleplayer campaign called World of Light. Interestingly enough, though, there is actually a Super Smash Bros Ultimate New Game Plus mode for it if you beat it.

That’s right, despite having dozens of hours of play available, World of Light doesn’t have to end when you beat it. There is a Super Smash Bros Ultimate New Game Plus mode that you can select upon completion. In this guide, we are going to go over what the mode does, why it’s good for you, and whether or not you should play it.

What is the Super Smash Bros Ultimate New Game Plus Mode?

Super Smash Bros Ultimate New Game Plus

First and foremost, you will need to see the credits for World of Light in order to unlock the New Game Plus mode. When this happens, you are given a choice according to user Solid Jack. You can continue playing through World of Light with that save file in order to get 100 percent completion or start all over.

As with other games, the Super Smash Bros Ultimate New Game Plus retains some stuff. Interestingly enough, you retain a lot of goodies in World of Light. You keep all of your fighters, Spirits, skill tree, activities, and more. In addition, you will also complete a challenge that rewards you with 20,000 Spirit Points.

What makes Super Smash Bros Ultimate New Game Plus really awesome is what it allows you to do. Not only can you replay through the entire Adventure again, but you can do it with fighters you didn’t have originally. You are also able to collect duplicates of Spirits you fought previously and unlock remaining skills. If you’re a fan of the mode, we recommend it.
