This War of Mine has been a huge success across multiple platforms, no doubt about that. While the success of this game developed by 11 Bit Studios is a great feat on its own. The fact that the company has been able to donate $500,000 USD to the War Child charity through DLC is better.
Helping the Children in Need

Back in 2014 when the game was getting its DLC, 11 Bit Studios made an alliance with War Child. Together, 11 bit studios and War Child created charity DLC which added war-themed works of world-famous graffiti artists to the game.
100% of the net income generated by the DLC went to the War Child charity. After 4 years since launching the initiative, the company is happy to report that $500,000 USD was raised. To celebrate the occasion, 11 Bit Studios released a video showing how much impact this effort has taken.
The efforts of the DLC campaign have mostly helped War Child to help multiple countries such as: Afghanistan, Iraq, the Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and Yemen.
These countries saw benefits such as summer schooling, temporary learning spaces, expanding child helplines, and much more. War Child was also able to fund a new gaming division which has raised over $5.2 million dollars to date.
All of this was done with the help of 11 Bit Studios, the game, and the helpful input from gamers. Of course, this doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the road as people can still support War Child through their website or buying the game and DLC on Steam.
What do you think about the 11 Bit Studios and War Child alliance? Will you help this charity by purchasing the game and its DLC? 343 Industries has also joined in the efforts by helping children with prosthetic arms modeled after Master Chief himself.
