At CES 2019 today, HTC unveiled the Viveport Infinity. The VR subscription platform will be essentially the “Netflix” for VR games. Players will only have to pay a certain price to enable access to more than 500 games at launch. The service also has a release date in addition to the announcement. It will be released this spring on April 5, 2019. The subscription price is still unknown.
However, what we do know is that it will be a step up from the Viveport VR games subscription. Previously, that subscription only allowed players to play around five games per month. With Viveport Infinity, though, users will have access to more than 500 games right at launch. The best part? It’s not just for HTC Vive owners.
Viveport Infinity Details

The Viveport Infinity subscription will be available to numerous PC VR headsets including Oculus, Wave, and more. It is currently unknown what the lineup of 500 games at launch will look like but this is exciting news for VR fans. It is unfortunate, though, that this is only currently available for PC VR headsets and not ones like PlayStation VR.
Not only will there be a slew of games for subscribers to check out each month but there is a hub you will visit when you log in as well. The Origin is the hub for things like Viveport Infinity. This is a cool place that users will be able to hang out in and discover what content is available through this brand new subscription.
In addition to the subscription, HTC opened the doors and announced its next VR headset, HTC Cosmos. This new headset is meant to make the whole setup and everything easier for users, whether it’s at home or on the go. Footage is shown using the HTC Cosmos with not just a gaming laptop but a smartphone as well. More details are to be revealed in the near future.
